Luis Manuel Pinho

Luis Manuel Pinho is a Materials Engineer, designer and builder of recreational vessels — and an ocean navigator by vocation and by choice.

For more than half his life, the sea was his permanent home. He sailed his own sailboats across some of the most challenging oceans on the planet.

He commanded ships on environmental expeditions for Sea Shepherd — an internationally recognized NGO featured in Hollywood documentaries — sailing the icy seas of Antarctica, the Caribbean, the Brazilian coast, Australia, New Zealand, the Galapagos Islands, and the Pacific.

Polynesia, his declared passion.

Born in Mozambique in 1967, graduated in Engineering in Brazil in 1991, and a naturalized Australian citizen — Luis is, as he himself defines it, a citizen of all seas.

Today he maintains a partnership as a Design Engineer with B&G Yacht Design, a leading naval architecture firm in Brazil and abroad, headquartered in Australia. Founded by the charismatic Roberto Barros — "Cabinho" — and now managed by Naval Engineer Luis Gouveia.
